Get paid working as an intern at CBS Interactive

Greetings from the Great White North! The band and I would like to offer our most sincere apologies for taking so long to finish our most recent recording. The truth is that the delay was for good reasons..! We wanted to re-structure our approach to the band, starting with building a studio where we could do everything together (rehearse, write, record, mix, hang out... and pretty much live), all the way up to the kind of songs we wanted to write, and how we would release them. I had become uninspired by the old school structure of rehearse, write, demo, wait for the label to give you money to record, tour and then do it again in two years. I wanted to record WAY more often, have it sound WAY weirder, and make the demos - the INITIAL ideas- BE the record! So we built the studio (Tugboat Place), I taught myself how to engineer, and we spent months of working/playing till dawn every day... and now we have a new HHH record that is by far my favorite thing we've ever done... not to mention of ton of recorded material that will be coming out later, and a way to be writing and recording constantly..!

So thx for your patience kind citizens of Hothotheatland. As a thank you we're posting two songs, "Future Breeds" and "JFK's LSD," from our forthcoming album titled Future Breeds, for you to download for free on this here new site... Oh and there are vids for each of them courtesy of TheFuturists.ca who filmed 'em for their site. It's basically them hanging with us for 3 or 4 nights here in Vancouver... fly on the wall style.

We've booked some dates for next year, but I'll save that for another love letter. Hope to see you soon...

Steve

IT Intern

It has been over 3 years now (June 05) since I joined as an intern working in the CBS Interactive tech team. I was still a university student at that stage, in my 4th year studying Computer Systems Engineering at UTS. The role enabled me to gain valuable insight into the corporate-nature of technology - its applications and challenges for the company, and how I, as an engineer fit in to the equation.

My work at the time involved system administration tasks for the servers and systems in place i… Continue

Working at CBS

Working for CBS Interactive has been great fun! I joined in March 2007 as a Junior Video Editor after finishing my Diploma in Digital Media.

Since then I have had the privilege on going on fun and exciting location shoots, editing creative and educational videos, traveling around Australia and meeting up with Celebrities.

Recently I got promoted as a Video Producer and now have a great team under me that I help manage and drive as the Video Team. I wouldn’t trade my job with anything else!

CBS Interactive

I first started working for CBS Interactive back in June 07 as an intern for GameSpot. When I grew up I loved playing computer games so naturally when I heard the opportunity to work for a gaming website I jumped at it. I was developing my writing skills by reviewing games as well as updating and publishing stories on CNET.

At the end of my internship an opportunity came up to work as an assistant in the ad operations department full time. Having no clue what ad operations did or that they even… Continue
